When you apply for a job, there is usually a section that will ask you if you have a criminal record. This is subject to the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974. If your conviction is "spent" then you can tick no to the question.
The result is that users of the site are provided with up to date and relevant company details of businesses supplying the items they require. Potential customers can view products, read detailed profiles, contact the supplier using the information provided on Property Maker, or follow a link onto the listing’s external website.
If your conviction is not spent then you must tick YES to the question. Even if you have changed your name by deed poll.
Trust deed advice can significantly reduce your debt nightmare.
We remain committed to a personal conveyancing service where our clients deal with one person throughout, who knows who they are and what is goinjg on.
If you are asked for a disclosure, you will have to reveal your old name. Not doing so could be a criminal offence and carries a prison sentence. We do not subscribe to "factory" conveyancing practices where clients often have legitimate concerns about the qualifications of the individuals dealing with their work or where clients speak to a different person every time they call and have to provide information again and again.
People who's convictions are "spent but are still required to report to a police station to declare a change of circumstances must inform the police that you have changed your name by deed poll"
This situation would usually apply to people with a probation order, on Licence or people subject the the sexual offences act 2003 where you are required to report your change to the police.
From this screen you can find out about the firm, contact our lawyers, get quotations for conveyancing services, subscribe to one of our newsletters, use our employment law surgery and consider the range of services we offer by using the menu on the left.
The training course, which is entirely practical, will teach various skills which are required to carry out a variety of solicitor's instructions in both criminal and civil settings. Some of the skills learned are skills utilized by barristers and advocacy solicitors during court trials and hearings.
Mackesys has been a criminal solicitor for 25 years. We are holders of four Criminal Contracts, which were awarded by the Legal Services Commission. Our specialist Team consists of more than 40 dedicated fee-earners, dealing with day to day crime up to serious fraud, murder and rape.
Unlike the training session in our Civil High Court training programme much of the training at the Crown Court (criminal court) will be spent actually inside live criminal trials. For example, if you were instructed to go to court to take hand written notes of a trial (sorry, no shorthand or tape recordings allowed) how do you take accurate legal notes and at the same time keep up with what is being asked and answered by the barrister, the Judge and the witnesses (especially when the questions and answers are long ones)? Among other things the training will teach you a number of new skills that will enable you to master this important legal assignment.
Now imagine you have been sent to assist the barrister during a criminal trial and in the middle of your note taking your client (who is in the dock) manages to get your attention and indicates that he wants to speak to you, what should/could you do? These and other interesting, challenging and some times amusing situations are covered in this training course.
As in the civil court training programme having these legal skills, (which are transferable skills) on your CV will impress most prospective employers and could significantly influence an employer to offer you the job you are applying for. This has been the case even when the job being applied for was nothing to do with the legal field.
In addition successfully passing this course will also make you eligible to apply to the school for a job referenc.
The fee for the Criminal Court Case training course (Optional Extra training) and for a Recognised Certificate is as follows:-
Employed persons £99 (full or part time); includes marking and certification.
Students £50 (valid Student ID required); includes marking and certification.
Unemployed £50 (proof required); includes marking and certification.
